Conflict management in our African community
As long as people interact with each other, there is bound to be misunderstandings and eventually conflicts. How healthy and productive the people continue to interact depends on their appreciation and prevention and management of the differences they have. It is mostly said that Africans in the Diaspora are unable to work together as they get involved in too many conflicts for too many reasons. BUT is this true? Is it even unique to Africans? And if true, how do we manage these conflicts and focus our energy into a constructive community?
In this virtual room organized by the African Impulse e,V. within the Framework of Project NRW Zusammen, Jordan Von Palah, a media coach shall take us through the following:
- Key factors that create conflict in the African society
- Analyzing these key factors from different angles and situations
- Possible solutions and strategies to mitigate or solve these conflicts
Jordan Von Palah is a project manager by profession, who in the past 2 years has been helping companies in Germany in smoothly restructuring their project management departments, organizing seminars on risk management and also in restructuring their conflict resolution and management processes. In his free time, he focuses on a project that identifies and seeks resolutions to conflicts in society, especially in organizations. He currently works part-time at the department of Immigration in the Ministry of internal affairs of the Regierungspräsidium Stuttgart, handling amongst others, translations and interpretation, beginner level lectures in German language and immigration counseling and problem solving.
The session shall, like all Virtual rooms be interactive. The contributions of all participants are very valuable. The format of the Virtual Room is such that participants from a cross-section of the community - Young, old, male and female engage interactively in a discussion of interest to the African community in NRW, such that we get a view which kind of represents the way the community sees the problems from all angles and also promotes a culture of learning and tolerance from amongst the participants.
You can join the Virtual Room on Friday 21st October 2022 at 18:00 via Zoom through the following link:
